London, Superbowl Weekend - 2005

Do you ever get those "almost-too-good-to-be-true" last minute getaway deals in your email? Well, I had no plans for the superbowl weekend this year (other than to watch it of course!). So I on Thursday night before the weekend I get one of these emails and start looking at what they have to offer. London for the weekend, just $389 round trip with hotel? Seems almost too good to be true, but no, it's the real deal!

Friday after work I took the T to Logan, got on a 8:30 flight and was in London at 6am the next morning. I had no checked luggage so I walked right out of the airport and onto the Tube. I had breakfast in central London, did tons of shopping around (especially CDs), took lots of photos and then took an early evening nap so I could get in synch with the London time and then head out to check out a club. I went back out about 10:30 and was out until 3:30, slept until 10:30 on Sunday morning then packed up my things and went back into central London for lunch and some last minute souvenirs. Then it was back on the Tube to Heathrow. I caught my late afternoon flight home and thanks to the 5 hour time difference I was home on my couch watch the Patriots win it all again! I was back at work on Monday morning just as if it were any other weekend! I can't wait to do it again!
